In the 1990s, Shorty's was one of the biggest brands in skateboarding. The brand tended to stay in the background with regard to public relations and promotion. Shorty's is still considered a cult in skateboarding circles, not least because of outstanding legend team riders like Chad Muska and Peter Smolik, who helped shape the former professional team but most of all their model ROSA.
